I did a Youtube-y style video of some basic maintenance stuff on my Accent....wiper system and the interior cabin air filter (that most people forget!) in this one. Prob do another video in the next week as I want to get some stuff done before Fall and Winter hit and I am driving regularly for school again! Enjoy if you feel like it! :P

Nice work! Great close ups on the wiper blades, people break these all the time trying to install. Also the filter replacement is another super easy DIY that people pay silly money for at the dealer without even thinking about it.
I knew it was time to move on from my BMW inde when he called and was like yeah so I did the valve adjustment...and I changed out your “micro filter ” (for an extra $180!). I said “you have to ask me next time before you charge me $100 to replace two drop in filters” (the filters are actually $80 which is loonytunes on its own).
Anyway, great video.

Nice video. The sound may have been tinny in some parts but that’s better than obtrusive wind noise.
I liked the close ups of the windshield arms. Those can be pretty tricky to get off the first time, but after that it’s easy peasy until you break something with overconfidence.
I couldn’t help but chuckle in some places though at the intro segment. Especially when you said, “the inside oot.” You were a good host though. Clearly that was not your first time being on camera. Good editing too. I’ll be looking out for that next one.

Thanks! I’ve always thought it weird that a lot of manufacturers design the interior in a way that makes replacing the cabin filter ridiculously complicated... I’m really lucky Hyundai made it super easy on my generation of Accent. The simplicity of this car is part of the reason I love it! :)
$180 to replace two filters is nut
s
! I think I spent like $7 for that cabin
filter on Amazon...? if I hadn’t been making the video, changing it would have taken me maybe 3 minutes...w
as hilarious how dirty it was just after one
year though!

They’re under the hood but easy accessible in most BMWs . Third party filters are $40 for both which is what I usually go for. The one for the forester is $20, I havent done the VW’s yet but I bet its priced somewhere in the middle there.

Yeah, sadly my digi-camcorder has no way to put a ‘dead cat’ over the mic to help reduce wind noise and, as I don’t have an external mic, doing a high pass on the video sound in places to lessen in the wind noise was the best I could do.
Do I have that noticeable a Canadian accent, haha! I didn’t think I did compared to other parts of the country, but who knows! I’ve done a few other videos in the past, but I did do some more editing on this cone compared to the others...the Salvage Yard one had BY FAR the most editing though, lol.

That’s not too bad really. Are the ones on the Forester and the VW easily
accessible?

Both are in the same location as humdrum’s filter! I think most cars are this way as the blower motor is usually in that location.

Seems that way! :D

I didn’t think it sounded that bad, especially for an internal mic.
You definitely have a Canadian accent. I tend to have more of a general American accent than a southern one but there is a little twang sometimes haha.
I found it to be very watchable so you did a lot right. Who knew changing a filter and some wipers could be entertaining to watch?

Thanks! Glad at least one person enjoyed it!
Might record the next one today or tomorrow if I find the time!
